St. Ann Community Carnival - Signups Have Started

Posted on Aug 11 2016 - 8:48pm

Each year Troop 841 provides valuable assistance to St. Ann and the Coppell community during the annual carnival which is scheduled for September 9-11.  Our main role at the carnival is to provide assistance with parking.  Troop 841 benefits from providing this assistance in a number of ways.  First, our scouts earn service hours for each 2-hour shift they complete helping to direct traffic into/out of the parking lot.  Second, our troop receives high visibility and recognition from the community members we are helping. Third, the troop typically receives a financial benefit for providing assistance which helps to pay for camping gear and supplies. In addition, when scouts work at the carnival, it is a great opportunity for them to interact with community members and polish up their interpersonal skills by being helpful, friendly, courteous, kind, and cheerful.

Troop Elections Coming Soon

Posted on Jul 22 2016 - 6:50am
Hello Scouts – We will be holding our bi-annual youth leader elections next month on Monday, August 22.  This is especially important for those boys who have or are about to complete their First Class rank.  Following First Class, boys need to hold a formal troop leadership position to advance to Star, Life and Eagle.

You were sent an email with a summary of the many leadership positions that are available.  Prior to the formal election, you need to decide if you want to put your name on the ballot for one of the elected positions (Senior Patrol Leader or Patrol Leader) or if you want to be considered for one of the appointed positions (Asst. SPL, Quartermaster, Scribe, Webmaster, etc.).
